Earlier in July, Infosys aces CRISIL’s Ranking as the most Environmental, Social, and Governance oriented company in India with an impressive score of 79 on 100. The company scored 86, 68, and 81 on environmental, social, and governance parameters, respectively.
The assessment was made based on the publicly available ESG information, keeping into consideration both the quantitative and qualitative disclosures of the two companies. The criteria on which the organizations were assessed were as follows:
Environmental: Green House Gas emissions, energy utilization, waste and pollution, water utilization, and land utilization.
Social: Workspace and diversity, occupation/product safety, customer and vendor engagement, ease of access and reach, and communities and society.
Governance: Board performance, ownership concentration, management performance, shareholder relations, and disclosure practices/statements.
The CFO at Infosys, Mr. Nilanjan Roy acknowledged that the whole organization is feeling extremely proud to be ranked as one of the most ESG-focused companies in CRISIL’s ESGauge. At Infosys, they ensure a complete focus on governance to ecological and societal needs. He further added, the company will focus on enhancing the existing roadmap and set a new benchmark for achievements in the ESG space.
Infosys is equipped with a sturdy corporate sustainability program and has accomplished multiple milestones across E, S, and G over the last decade. Additionally, the organization became carbon neutral in 2020, 30 years ahead of the predicted timeline set by the Paris Agreement.
